Religion: This week is a unit review week. We focus on the Catholic Social Teaching concept of Solidarity of the Human Family. No test this week!

English/Writing; We continue on in Unit 5; this week using quotation marks. In writing we continue with our poetry unit and a painting activity to accompany it.

Science: This week we begin our planet webquest. Groups will be formed and assigned a planet. We will be crews on a mission to our assigned destination. The children will create a crew patch and then be off on their exploration. They will use our mobile laptops to research their planet through a webquest. Next week on Monday, March 8 the children will make their three dimensional planets, finish up their research, and paint their planets. After that they will use their information to create a classroom presentation which will be done the final week of the quarter. Great fun! We will remind the children to bring a big old shirt to school the week of March 8 to wear over their uniform. The making and painting of the planets can be a little messy! (but tons of fun)

Math: We continue on in Chapter 12. This week using a schedule to problem solve and using both a fahrenheit and celsius thermometer to tell the temperature. We will take the Chapter 12 test on Thursday of this week.

Reading: No spelling tests this week as we have only three days of school. We will continue on with stories as follows; the Illustrators -Animal Fact, Animal Fable, the Authors The Koala Catchers, and the Publishers Amelia’s Road. The Publishers have their interview questions and their decade. They can interview parents at home and anyone else such as grandparents, aunts, uncles….over the phone. Interview notes should be in school on Monday, March 8. We will do the rest of our decade research in school.

Music: Remind your child to bring their recorder to school on Tuesday!
