- Ash Wednesday Mass - Lent begins
Religion: Because Wednesday is the beginning of the Lenten Season, we will spend time this week discussing its importance. Prayer, fasting and almsgiving, the three principal practices of Lent, will be the focus of our discussion. We will also be creating a classroom Lenten calendar to help guide us through this very important season.
Reading: READ! READ! READ! Reading minutes are due this Friday, and the third quarter book project (flip book) is due the following Friday, February 26.
English: This week we will be learning the concepts of a prepositional phrase and object of the prepositition. We will continue practicing deleting these phrases to determine the subject and verb of a sentence.
Writer’s Workshop: Students will continue to work on their compare/contrast essays.
Spelling A copy of this week’s spelling list went home on Thursday; test and homework are due Thursday, February 18.
