Hope your long weekend was delightful! We begin the week with Tuesday Music class. Don’t forget to remind your child to bring their recorder to school. Wednesday is Ash Wednesday and we go to mass and receive ashes at 10:00. Thursday is Hot Lunch as usual. Don’t forget to send a snack. Friday ends the week with quizzes and regular Library time. Please note we will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation as a class next week on Monday, Feb. 22.

Thank you to Father Gabriel for making our pizza party so much fun! Thank you to Mrs. Allen, Mrs. Hasse, Mrs. Garney, and Mrs. Moore who served and managed the party. (Sophie Moore is our new student in 3B homeroom!) Thank you to Mrs. Kadlcek and Mrs. Little for the yummy Valentine treats. We have great parties!

Next week you will receive your child’s mid-term report in the Wednesday envelope.

Reading: The Fireballs will read Koala Catchers. The Bees will read Pure Power. The Bowling Balls will read JJ’s Big Day. All three groups will have their usual comprehension quizzes on Friday. They also have their Spelling tests on Friday. We will begin Unit testing on Friday and finish up on Monday of next week.

Math: The Cubs will finish up Chapter 13 and take the pretest this Friday and final test on Monday of next week. The Blackhawks will finish up Chapter 11 and their testing is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. They need some extra time to master division facts. Please practice at home.

Religion: We finish up Chapter 12 and the test will be Wednesday, 2/17. We will also study Lenten lessons.

Social Studies: The children are eager to research and read up on their Native American Indian tribes. Reports are due next week on Wednesday, Feb.24th. We study the Cherokee this week.

English: We are working on Unit 5. There will be a quiz on months of the year and days of the week both spelling & abbreviations this Thursday. We will work in our Composition Books polishing final copies during writing.

Spanish: Due this Thursday is page 26.

Accelerated Reader: Your child should be pacing his or herself to complete half of their goal for the mid-term this week. Thank you for always encouraging your child to read each day. Record the minutes on the Book It chart. March will be the last month to do so. Congratulations to the students who completed Monarch Award books and received their prize and recognition from Sr. Carolyn.

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO TO HELP.
