1B Week of Feb. 8

PLEASE SEND ONE TOLIET PAPER ROLL FOR A VALENTINE PROJECT.
Although this is a short week, having Friday off, it is a busy week in first grade. We will celebrate the 100th day of school on Monday. All First Grade students are to bring 100 of something to school. We will share these surprises along with many other fun and thought provoking100 day activities. We will also celebrate Valentines Day on Thursday, February 11. Please send valentines that only show FROM: Your child’s name. Do not fill in the TO: section.
Religion
We are talking about the Holy Spirit as a Guide for the Church. We will list the gifts of the Holy Spirit. A test on Chapter 10 and 11 will be given on Tuesday, Feb. 16.

Saints
On Monday, we will have test on Chapter 13. (We were unable to have the test on Friday, due to the Spirit Rally for Catholic School’s Week.) We will also celebrate the 100th Day of School with a 100 Show and Tell.
We will begin identifying coins and counting pennies, nickels, and dimes.
Homework pages 94-98 plus addition/subtraction practice to be sent home.
Practice Math Facts through 12 for the Third Quarter.
Angels
On Monday, we will have test on Chapter 11. (We were unable to have the test on Friday, due to the Spirit Rally for Catholic School’s Week.) We will also celebrate the 100th Day of School with a 100 Show and Tell.
We will also study skip counting by 2’s and by 5’s. We will be looking for number patterns up to 100. We will use a Table to solve math problems.
Homework a packet with math facts will be sent home on Monday.

Science for 1A
This week we will look at the Life Cycle of Plants as well as look at plants from different habitats, such as the desert, rainforest, arctic. We are watching our seeds to see if they have sprouted.
