The new hot lunch volunteer schedule is up on the blog.  Please check to see when you are scheduled.  If something comes up that you are unable to make a date you are scheduled for please make every effort to find a replacement.  We still have several classes in need of volunteers for certain dates.  If your child receives hot lunch and you haven’t already signed up to volunteer please consider filling at least one of these dates.  The open dates by homeroom are as follows:

K2: Feb. 25; April 29

K3: April 29

3B: March 11; April 8, 29; May 6, 20

4A: April 8, 29; May 6, 13, 20

4B: April 15, 29

6B: March 25

A new section on the blog “Happenings in 8th grade” has been devoted to just that - What’s happening in 8th grade. Safe Environment Program — Joy Maguire Dooley will do a 15 to 20 minute presentation on her Safe Environment Program series, for 1st - 8th grade, that is mandated by the Diocese of Joliet. The Kindergarten will be introduced to Sam’s Story for the first time.
The Safe Environment Program adapted for the Diocese of Joliet, is a way for young children to learn to recognize and respond appropriately and assertively to improper touching. This part of the program is for students in kindergarten through 8th grade.- Click here for more info and permission sheet

Discernment for New School Board Members - The process is now underway to discern new board members for the next school year. The St. Joan of Arc School Board includes eight members from St. Joan of Arc Parish, each of whom serves for terms of three years. Up to nine Discernment Candidates can undergo the discernment process, which includes an application phase and two mandatory meetings. The mandatory meetings for Discernment Candidates are scheduled for Monday, March 22 and Monday, April 19 at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Center.

Discernment packets, which include a School Board application, are currently available in the School Office. Completed applications should be submitted to the School Office no later than Wednesday, March 10, 2010.

Interested individuals are invited to participate in the Discernment process at SJA. Please consider how your talents, time and energy can best serve the School Board.

SCRIP NEWS

This is the last month to earn tuition credits for this 2009/2010 school year.

If you have purchased at least $500 and elected to recieve a tuition credit, pending you meet the minimum

$2000 requirement, you should have received a preliminary report in January.

Be sure to order through the Wednesday Envelope or come to one of the Quick Pick Days.
