Reminders:

Each morning we will be collecting funds to help support Sister Carolyn’s Adopt a Student program; our hope is to raise money for our own SJA families in need.  Students should turn in their donations to their homeroom teacher each morning.

  • Monday:  Ice cream treat during lunch
  • Tuesday:  bookmarks distributed by PSO,  Performing Arts Assembly (Catholic Challenge game show),  Last Day for book fair
  • Wednesday:  Slippers/crazy sock or crazy tie day (grades 4-8)
  • Friday:  Red and white school appropriate clothing may be worn instead of the uniform,  All School Spirit Rally

Religion:  We will begin chapter 6, Making Good Choices; reflecting on how choices are made and learning about the use of consequences of free will.  This chapter’s bible verse is Psalm 119:33

Reading:   If your child has not handed in his/her parent signature for the parent letter describing “Reading Minutes”, please do so.  Reading minute sheets are due this Friday and  are counted as part of the participation grade in reading (participation is twenty-five percent of the final grade)

English:  Because  the students have not been taught prepositions, they often mistake them as the subject of the sentence.  We are going to spend some time memorizing the most common prepositions and begin crossing them out as a way to help make determining the subject of the sentence easier.

Writing:  Students will continue to work on their compare/contrast essays.

Spelling:  No spelling homework or test this week; a new list will be given on Thursday.
