As you’re aware, this week we are celebrating Catholic Schools Week! We have lots of fun things planned…
MONDAY-The Kindergarten will get donut holes for snack in the morning. BOOK FAIR continues during school hours.
TUESDAY- BOOK FAIR continues during school hours. Your child will have an opportunity to visit if he/she is prepared to.
WEDNESDAY-Crazy socks and inside out tee shirt day! Children will get their throats blessed at 11:30.
THURSDAY-Children who completed the Monarch Reading Program will receive their awards from Sr. Carolyn at 8:30.
FRIDAY- Jeans and sweatshirt day with red and white accessories.
ALL WEEK-The Adopt-A-Student collection.Tomorrow we will begin our Phonics block in the mornings in my classroom. We will be working on phonics and phonemic awareness. We will be doing many different hands on activities and using the SMARTboard to interact with letters and words!
We will be tying our Pegasus literature (Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain) into our Science unit. We will be learning about weather throughout all four seasons, and also learning about the different types of clouds! The children really love this unit, and I know the other teachers are excited about teaching Science.

Has your son/daughter told you what is coming in 5 days (Monday, February 8th)? Our 100th day of Kindergarten! Can you believe it? This year is flying by! We have many exciting activities planned for the day, and you will receive information in this week’s Wednesday Envelope.
