IMPORTANT KINDERGARTEN NOTICE

Dear Parents,
As of Monday, February 1, 2010, the kindergarten team will make some changes to our curriculum. In the interest of providing our students with a stronger base in phonemic awareness and phonics, we will expand our language arts block to reinforce these important skills in learning to become successful readers. We believe that this supplement will enhance our current reading curriculum by providing further instruction that will encourage independent reading. Science and Social Studies units will now be co-taught by all three teachers in a block format one day a week on Wednesday afternoons.
Your children will continue to have the great learning opportunities in Science and Social Studies as they have until this point. As a team, we feel this change will allow our kindergarten students to build a greater foundation in reading for the coming years!
