1B Week of Feb. 1

We enjoyed seeing all of you at the Open House on Sunday.  Now your child has a Silent, Twin to play with!!

This will be a busy/fun week at St. Joan of Arc.  On Monday, we get to enjoy an ice cream treat.  On Tuesday, we will enjoy a Quiz Show at Performing Arts.On Wednesday, we get to wear crazy socks and inside out shirts!!  On Friday, we get to wear jeans and a sweatshirt.  All week we will be collecting for the Adopt a Student Fund, so if your child earns some extra money doing special chores, perhaps he/she could spare part of their earnings.

Religion

 

This week we will conclude Chapter 10 and begin Chapter 11, The Holy Spirit. We will learn that Jesus sent a guide to help us in the form of the Holy Spirit. With the Holy Spirit’s help, we are given gifts of wisdom, understanding, courage, knowledge, reverence, and wonder and awe.

This week we will conclude the Chapter on Time which includes telling time to the 5 minute interval, reading and interpreting a Calendar and a Schedule and determining elapsed time. The TEST will be on THURSDAY, Feb. 4

Practice Math Facts through 12 for the Third Quarter.

 

Angels

Your child will estimate numbers of things less that 99.  Then, they will learn that grouping by 10 is the best way to accurately count large numbers of items. Your child will compare sets of things up to 100 and find out which set is greater or lesser and be able to use the correct symbol to show equation. A test on this Chapter will be on Monday, Feb. 8.

Science for 1A

We will observe, measure, predict, record data and actually do what scientists do all the time.  We will be using the SMART Board to label plant parts.  A study guide will be sent home on Wednesday and a test will be given on Monday, Feb. 8. We will only get together briefly this week because of all the CSW activities.
