Religion
This week we will continue to discuss the heroes of our Faith, such as, Noah, Mary, Daniel, Mother Terese, and other Saints. We will see that Baptism makes you a member of God’s Kingdom and a member of the Church. We will keep praying for the people of Haiti and for other personal intentions. IF YOU HAVE PICTURES OF YOUR CHILD’S BAPTISM THAT YOU CAN SEND TO SCHOOL, WE WOULD LOVE TO SHARE THEM!!

Your child will continue to explore time by reading/writing about the correct time, determining elapsed time and reading and interpreting a calendar.
Homework pages 91-94 plus addition subtraction practice to be sent home.
Practice Math Facts through 12 for the Third Quarter.
Angels
Your child will conclude the Chapter 10 on place value to 100. A study packet will go home on Monday. A test will be given on Wednesday, Jan. 27. Then, we will begin Chapter 11. Your child will determine numbers that come before, or after or between other numbers up to 100. Your child will estimate numbers of things less that 99. Then, they will learn that grouping by 10 is the best way to accurately count large numbers of items.
Homework pages 71-76 also a packet with math facts will be sent home on Monday.

Science for 1A
Last week we learned some scientific words such as classify, compare, observe, measure, record data, infer, predict, investigate. We saw a short movie about a famous scientist, Thomas Edison. This week we will become the Scientists by planting a Lima Bean Seed and watching what happens. We will observe, measure, predict, record data and actually do what scientists do all the time. We will compare differences between living and non-living things. We will label plant parts.
