5A - Week of January 11 - 15
Published by Ms Friedman (5A) January 10th, 2010 in Announcements.Thursday: Dare graduation is at 7:00. Students need to come to their homeroom classroom by 6:40. Dress pants must be worn and no jeans are allowed. Students will get their t-shirts when they arrive at school on Thursday night.
Friday: The last day of 2nd quarter is Friday, January 14. Students will learn who their math teacher is for 3rd quarter on Friday.
Spelling: Students will review the Unit 16 words this week. They received their 5-unit word sheet on Thursday. Students will be tested on 25 words instead of 20 words. The words there, their, they’re, your, and you’re will appear on every test for the next 5 spelling units. It is important to review with your child the proper use of each word.
9:30 Math: Chapter 9 test will be on Friday. A study note will be sent home early in the week. There are many things on this test and it is very important that students study for it every night of the week.
10:30 Math: Chapter 9 test will be on Thursday. A study note will be sent home early in the week. Snowman projects are due on Wednesday.
Science: Students will continue to study the solar system and use the computers to help them do so this week. They will begin working on their first solar system project this week in school as well.
English: Students will be working on a persuasive essay about their favorite restaurant.
