5A - Week of January 4 - 8

Spelling: Unit 15 words will be covered this week in class. Homework is one soup and 1 dessert. A new spelling word list will be handed out on Friday.
9:30 Math: We will be covering fraction concepts this week, including GCF and LCM. There will be a quiz on Wednesday over GCF.
10:30 Math: Students will continue to learn about fractions and decimals this week. Students will also be given a math project to complete at home on Monday. They are to build a snowman but must make sure it does not weigh over 50 pounds and cost over $25.00. These projects are due on January 13.
Science: We have started to study the solar system in science. Students will be doing various activities throughout this unit. They will complete their main project in school in a few weeks.
English: Students will complete their ABCs writing project this week as well as start their next writing piece.
