Mr. Gormley’s Religion Classes and 7A Vocabulary
Published by Mr. Gormley (7A) January 3rd, 2010 in Announcements.Happy New Year! Students will be returning Monday to see a Smart Board and a new computer set-up in each of our jr. high classrooms. I was able to get mine up and running over the holidays and can’t wait to use it in my religion classes. Thanks to Sister Carolyn, Mr. Wind, and our SJA parents who all contributed to the Smart Boards being purchased.
Confirmation classes will begin the week of January 4. As announced in the SJA Church bulletin over the holidays, the Confirmation date has been scheduled for Friday, April 16 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church. Bishop Sartain will be the celebrant. More information will be distributed in the coming weeks about the parent/student meeting date, Confirmation retreat date, sponsor information, Confirmation fee, and other vital information that you will need to know. Students will have a special Confirmation book that will be used for their preparation.
Unit 9 Vocabulary Homework is due Tuesday, January 5. Unit 9 Final Vocabulary Test is next Tuesday, January 12.
Dance classes for 7th and 8th grade students will begin every Monday starting January 4. 7th grade students are scheduled from 11:20-12:30. 8th graders will meet from 12:30-2:00 p.m. 7th grade students will eat during their gym periods. More information will be sent home in the Wednesday envelope. I have been impressed with the instruction our students receive from one of our former SJA student graduates.
Finally, I want to thank our SJA parents for their generous monetary donation that was divided up among the SJA staff members and the wonderful staff breakfast and luncheon put on by our SJA PSO members. Truly this has been one of the most generous and supportive schools that I have been associated with in my 40 years in education.
