Tuesday we will have a rehearsal of the entire music program. Wednesday we will have the last Junior Achievement presentation. Thursday is the yummy Christmas Buffet. Friday we will have our homeroom party and in the evening we will have the Christmas singing program.

Please check the general blog scroll for information and details about the week ahead.

I hope the children are continuing with random acts of kindness off their Advent chain. Sunday starts the third week of Advent and the focus is on the Joy we share as we await the coming of Jesus. We will continue our service project of joyous notes and cards for the sick of the parish and our military American heroes.

Reading: The Fireballs will continue reading The Many Lives of Benjamin Franklin. The Bees will continue with Cactus Hotel. The Bowling Balls will continue with Pecos Bill. All three groups will have comprehension tests on Wednesday. Spelling tests will be given on Wednesday as well. Unit testing will be given the second week after our return from the Christmas break.

Math: The Cubs will begin Chapter 10. The test For Chapter 9 is scheduled for Monday. The Blackhawks will begin Chapter 9. The test for Chapter 8 is Monday. Both groups will test out of their new chapter before the quarter ends which is shortly after we return from Christmas break. Please keep working on and practicing at home with basic facts. We will begin the time tests for multiplication facts after Christmas break.

Religion: Our focus this week will be on Advent lessons and the nativity. No testing this week.

Social Studies: We will begin our state report presentations. We will continue our study of Chapter 2. No test this week.

English: We begin Unit 4 Adjectives. We will finish our nativity stories.

Spanish: No homework due this Thursday. Pages 12, 13, and 14 will be checked for completion.

Accelerated Reader: The quarter ends 2 weeks after our return from Christmas break. Most of the children have completed the required 4 book quizzes and more.

Have a blessed and wonderful Christmas. Know I will pray for your family as we all celebrate this beautiful religious holiday. The Donovan family will be in New York at Fort Drum welcoming home from Afghanistan our son and hero, Lt. John Donovan the first week in January. This has been a long and challenging year. Our excitement as we await his return is beyond words. Thank you for your many prayers and constant encouragement during his deployment. Please pray for peace.
