Miss Mayor’s Kindergarten News!
Published by Ms. S. Mayor (K) December 7th, 2009 in Announcements.I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I am sorry for the delayed blog entry.
Science: We are continuing to learn about animals. We will learn what 4 things animals need to survive. Ask your child if he/she can remember the “4th grade word” that we learned about where animals live? (habitat or shelter) They were all so excited to learn such a big word!
Religion: In K3, we have been partaking in an Advent prayer service each day. We are preparing for Jesus to come! We have been “lighting” our Advent Wreath and revealing new stickers on our “Advent Calendar” each day. Also, we have been enriching our knowledge about what Jesus wants us to do in preparation for HIM!
Here is the important information for the next few weeks…
HIGH FREQUENCY WORDS: of, am, then
WINTER IS HERE! The weather offically began to look like winter this week. Your child will only be permitted to play in the snow with SNOWPANTS AND BOOTS. If you child has one or neither of these things, he/she will be required to play on the blacktop. It is very difficult to continue our day with wet pants, socks, and shoes. ALSO PLEASE LABEL ALL PIECES OF YOUR CHILD’S SNOW CLOTHING. Believe it or not, we have many pairs of the exact same boots!
GINGERBREAD HOUSES: THIS FRIDAY, December 11th! We will be meeting with our buddies to do this wonderful project. Please send your child with the items listed on the paper that was in last week’s Wednesday Envelope. We will be “pooling” the candy. Please let me know if you would prefer your child keep his/her candy separate.
KRIS KRINGLE: Your child will have an opportunity to shop at our annual Kris Kringle Christmas shop. Please make sure to write a note explaining how much money to spend for each person your child is buying a present for. Please enclose money in an envelope labeled with your child’s name!
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: NEXT FRIDAY, December 18th! There was a note attached to your child’s folder today. This note explains this program in more detail. Sr. Carolyn is highly encouraging each child to participate. You may pick your child up at the conclusion of the kindergarten performance or wait until after the entire program. Either way, I can only release your child to YOU in K3! Please do not attempt to take your child from the gym. I need to know your child has safely left the building. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. The children are very excited to perform for you!
This is going to be a very exciting next few weeks! Let me know if you have any questions/concerns.
