English 8A
Published by Mrs. Zydron (8A) December 7th, 2009 in Announcements.6th grade–we are spending the week reviewing the important chapter on verbs, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections. We will test on Thursday. This gives plenty of time for review at home–don’t forget the online text for interactive exercises.
7th grade–the final English paper is due Thursday. Any papers finished before then are gratefully accepted, as this will facilitate grading them and getting them returned as soon as possible. Switching back to grammar, we are tackling correct pronoun usage.
8th grade–Forging ahead with mechanics, we are moving through the chapter on punctuation. Tedious but necessary!
–Vocab. unit review, 4-6 is due Tuesday. Test next Tuesday, Dec. 15.
–in homeroom, in observing Advent, we are stressing the necessity of being the “light” in the anticipation of Christ’s birth. We say morning prayers facing the advent wreathe and include in our prayers the importance of contributing light, not darkness, by our actions.
