The word Advent means “coming” or “arrival.” Advent is marked by a spirit of expectation, of anticipation, and of preparation. Advent is observed as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas. The teachers will be “blogging” about what they do in their classrooms to observe Advent.
As a faculty, we gather each morning at 7:15 for prayer and reflection. We are reading from God’s Enduring Presence – Strength for the Spiritual Journey by Joyce Rupp. The readings celebrate God’s enduring presence among us. As we head on into the bustling holiday season it is wonderful to take a few moments each day to be at peace with those we love.
