Published by Mrs. Sendlak (6B) November 3rd, 2009 in Announcements. To all parents: Class grades are weighted : Tests, Quizzes, Projects, and Participation—keep this in mind when you are viewing the edline program. Due to our schedules, some grade changes may appear at a later date.
Eighth grade: We have moved on to The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. Each student has a study guide with chapter requirements. I plan to give some class time to read and complete assignments. Today both classes appreciated the study time and they worked diligently. Kudos!
Tom Sawyer is a happy, light-hearted story of summer-time fun, pranks, punishments, and adventures.
Seventh grade: Our Short Story Unit introduces the Big Question—Can all conflicts be resolved?
Selection skills: Compare and Contrast, Make Inferences, Character Traits and Point of View
Sixth Grade: For our Support Illinois Troops Project the following items would be appreciated: Slim Jims (or bags of Beef Jerky) and small Sudoku or Crosssword Puzzle books. Please bring these items in 11/9-13. Thank you in advance for your kindness.
Vocabulary: Unit 5 Test on Friday will be the last grade for this trimester.
Exploring the Big Question: Why do you read?
Selection skills: Distinguish Fact and Opinion, Identify Cause and Effect Relationships, Analyze Evidence and Recognize Author’s Purpose
Quality…Neatness…Deadline…Pride
Happy days,
