Basketball season is upon us

We recently received a letter from the DuPage Parochial Basketball Association concerning general fan behavior at sporting events. The association feels they have noticed an increase in aggressive behavior of fans towards referees who officiate the games. They stress that while this is not the case everywhere they have have found several situations where fan behavior was threatening to officials last year and do not want a repeat this year.
We ask that you be positive and supporting as fans and not interact negatively with referees, coaches, or others at games. We are role models to our children and they look to us for how to behave.
