2A TODAY OCTOBER 30, 2009
Published by Mrs. Bradburn (2A) October 30th, 2009 in Announcements.Good Morning!
Happy Halloween!! The excitement is evident in 2A. Have fun with all your little trick-or-treaters tomorrow.
Please come to 11:30 Mass on Sunday. It is the second grade family Mass. It is a special time to worship together and gather as friends after the Mass. Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour the night before so you don’t miss the special Mass.
In two weeks (11/9-11/13) the entire school will participate in a collection of items to send overseas to our military service personnel. Operation Support Our Troops Illinois will sort, package, and mail off everything for us. The second grade has been asked to donate shaving cream (non aerosol), any kind of wipes (unscented if possible). Any travel size personal care items are also greatly needed. Please be as generous as you can to show support for our troops. I will have a box in the classroom for the children to place their items in. Check out the OSOTIL website, www.osotil.org for more ideas. Thank you for your generosity. I will remind you and the children again the week before we start to collect the items.
If you are scheduled to present Arts Alive in my room on November 19 please let me know.
We are continuing to learn so much about life in Cameroon, Africa. My daughter writes to us about every two weeks and always has a wonderful lesson for the children filled with so much information. They, in turn, respond to her with questions that I e-mail her. She always answers their questions and then poses a question for them to think about. It is really a very special relationship that they are developing. Some of the questions from the second graders are priceless.
Lastly, if you wish to conference with me before the scheduled time in November please write me a note or e-mail and I will be glad to see you any morning before school.
Have a “spooktacular” weekend!
