St. Joan of Arc School

We had a fast-paced, productive week and are off to a great start!  The students have been working very hard and seem comfortable with their new routine.  A big thanks to all families who sent tissues and paper towels.  Details for all classes are as follows:

8B Vocabulary - Unit 1 exercises are due Tuesday, September 1.  The test on Unit 1 will be Tuesday, September 8.  The vocabulary writing exercise (saint paragraph) is also due on September 8. 

8-1 Math:  We have been reviewing Chapters 1-5.  A review quiz will be given as early as Tuesday, September 1st on these chapters.

7-1 Math:  Students are studying Chapter 1, An Introduction to Algebra and should expect a quiz on sections 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4 on Tuesday, September 1st.

6-3 Math:  We have covered sections 1-1, 1-2, and 1-3 of Chapter 1, Whole Numbers and Patterns.  We will review these sections on Monday, Aug. 31 and students can expect a quiz on these sections on Tuesday, September 1.

8-2 Science:  We are currently studying Chapter 1, An Introduction To Matter. The test on this chapter is scheduled for the week of September 7.   Also, students need to return the science lab safety contract with a parent signature on Monday, Aug. 31st.  The first lab activity will be Wednesday, September 2nd.  

7-2 Science:  We are studying Chapter 1,  Cell Structure and Function.  The students will be assigned a cell project which is due September 9th. A hand-out containing details about the cell project will be distributed Monday, Aug. 31.  A science lab safety contract will also be distributed to students on Monday.  This contract must be returned with a parent signature on Tuesday.  The first lab activity will Thursday, Sept. 3rd.  

6-2 Science:  We are studying Chapter 1, Earth: The Water Planet.  The test for Chapter 1 is scheduled for Thursday, September 3rd. A science lab safety contract will be distributed to students on Monday.  This contract must be returned with a parent signature on Tuesday.
