2A TODAY MARCH 6, 2009
Published by Mrs. Bradburn (2A) March 6th, 2009 in Announcements.Good Morning!
Could it be… spring? How refreshing yet muddy!! Sorry for all the muddy clothes and shoes but I guess it comes with the territory. We are excited to be out in the warmer weather. We were all suffering from cabin fever.
It is hard to believe that we are coming to the end of the third quarter. The second graders have grown so much. They are delighting me with their writing, their reading and their advanced math skills. The children still need to practice their math facts so that they commit them to memory and can recite them automatically, without the use of their fingers. Please continue to practice addition and subtraction flash cards with them.
The children are very excited to be learning all about the country of Cameroon. We have become penpals with my daughter Caitlyn who is living over there for two years. Last week we e-mailed her all our questions and she responded to each one individually. She is teaching us a lot. We are even learning a little bit of French. The questions the children are asking are very inteesting, cute and even funny. They are really enjoying being penpals with Caitlyn. It is a great way to learn about another part of the world that is so different from theirs. Caitlyn absolutely loves her life and work over in Cameroon.
Enjoy the wet weekend ahead.
