Thanks for a wonderful Catholis Schools’ Week

Catholic Schools week 2009 (January 25th- January 30th) celebrating “Catholic Schools’ Celebrate Service” was a roaring success. This year we kicked off the week on Sunday January 25th with a “Pack the Church” Mass! We were so happy to see so many of our families there.
In the spirit of service to others we chose this week to bring economic assistance to the Adopt a Student Fund. Due to continuing economic hardships and the loss of jobs for many of our own SJA families, the needs of Adopt a Student have exceeded the usual commitment. Therefore, this years gifting during Catholic Schools week benefited the adopt a student fund. Students were encouraged to earn money doing chores or jobs at home for the benefit of the fund and turn in donations in their classroom. We raised a total of $3812.03 for our Adopt-A-Student program. The winning classrooms were 4B with $328.74, 7A with $283.00 and 6B with $241.50.
Clues were provided daily for the Catholic Trivia. On Monday, K& 1st grade, on Tuesday grades 2 & 3, on Wednesday, grades 4 & 5, and on Thursday Jr. High tested their knowledge.
