4A MRS. DANOWSKI WEEK of FEBRUARY 2 - 6, 2009
Published by Mrs. Danowski (4A) January 30th, 2009 in Announcements.BLESSING OF THE THROATS: Tuesday
HOT LUNCH: Thursday
RELIGION: We continue our “Saint” presentations. Did you know that St. Sebastian was the patron saint for athletes? Many students took special notice of him. The posters are beautiful and the children are quite animated sharing knowledge of their saint with the class. Our class prayer each morning includes a saint litany…now we have more saints to call upon to pray for us!! Our textbook focus is Chapter 7 on the “Beatitudes.” I will read a children’s book on the subject to the class also. The Chapter 7 test is Thursday. Students receive directions this week for their “Scriptural Valentines” due the following week to be displayed in the hallway. Scripture is “God’s Love Letter” to us.
.
SOCIAL STUDIES: Chapter 7 on the MIDWEST is completed this week as students describe major Midwest towns, identify primary/secondary resources and review for the Chapter 7 test given Friday. Parents remember to look at your child’s notes and sign them. Many students have anticipated finishing this chapter so we could get started on LEWIS and CLARK (yeh! yeh!)
.
SCIENCE: National park research has been collected, read, cut out, and sorted into different categories such as landforms, mammals, plants, etc. Most teams submitted to me for approval their design plan and will go into “production mode” this coming week as they create their own team product - a national park poster for Biscayne, Denali, Joshua Tree, or Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park. If time… some teams may move into “presentation” mode and practice as a team for their presentation to the class.
