Dear Students and Families of St. Joan of Arc
Published by Father Gabriel December 12th, 2008 in Announcements. Our annual celebration of Christmas is the gift the church gives us to, not only recall the historical event of Jesus’ birth, but to make that event a present reality in our lives. We do this by our coming together as a parish community for the liturgical rites that punctuate this holy season. At our Christmas liturgies we will listen once again to the story of Jesus’ merciful coming in the flesh and then share in that mystery by our participation in the Eucharist.
We also deepen the meaning of Christmas in our lives through our family gatherings that strengthen the bonds of love that unite one member to another. With food, fellowship, and the generous sharing of gifts, we are reminded of the greatest gift we have ever received., the gift of God’s presence revealed in Jesus Christ.
May this Christmas be a special time of gratitude for this gift so that all of us may be renewed in our love for God and for one another.
Blessings to all of you.
Fr. Gabriel O.S.B.
