I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving weekend.

We are going to be busy this week in kindergarten and will get right back into the swing of things.

First of all, I am sure you’re all curious about the snowy day protocol.  We do go outside for recess, and all children are required to have snowpants, boots, gloves, etc. if they would like to play in the snow.  If the children do not have the appropriate “snow gear” on, they will be required to stay on the shoveled blacktop.  The children will be very excited to play tomorrow!
This week, we will be introduced to two new high frequency words: at and her.  The children will be very excited to continue our daily word work activities.  The children all seem to look forward to this part of our day!
Religion: We will begin our daily Advent prayer service.  We will have a chance to read different Christmas stories and will learn about the preparation for Jesus’ birth!
Science:  We will be beginning a unit on weather.  The children will have a chance to learn about the four seasons and the different types of weather we encounter in each season.  We will be doing many different activities and also reading different children’s literature incorporated into our weather theme.

Reminders for the week:

Wednesday: Hands on Science (in Miss Mayor’s classroom for all classes)

Thursday: Hot Lunch (cheeseburger/hot dog) & last day to check out library books before Christmas Break.
Friday: Gym Day

Have a safe and warm week,

Miss Mayor
