Kindergarten News

I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving. I know I enjoyed seeing so many of my family and spending some time with them.

We are now entering the season of Advent. The children will be busy learning about the season and praying with the Advent wreath each day.

Our two new high frequency words for this week are at and her.

Please be sure to have your children bring clothing that will allow them to fully participate in outdoor recess. The children love to play in the snow, but must be dressed according to the rules for snow play. They must have snow pants, boots, gloves or mittens, hat or hood, and a scarf is helpful to stay warm and dry at recess. A hooded sweatshirt is not considered appropriate outerwear for this weather. If they do not have snow pants and boots, they will not be allowed to play in the snow. Please be sure to put your child’s name in everything. We already have quite a collection of lost items without names and no claiming owners. Also, have your children practice dressing. Many of our children are still having difficulty dressing themselves for outdoors. Be sure to run some bar soap along those zippers. Have them do some extra practicing of starting the zipper. The children know the faster we dress – the longer we have for playing outside.

Thursday will be the last chance for children to check out library books before the Christmas break. Be sure they bring back the books they have so they can get new ones.

Have a wonderful week and remember to keep Advent in your daily routine.
