We are beginning week two of the second trimester. The new format for the Lit. Logs. has been explained and the forms are available. This trimester three novels will be required and the due dates for the Lit. Logs. are: 12-10, 1-14 and 2-11. These postings are also in the Language Arts classrooms.
Each student will be required to prepare a Word of the Week—-Schedule is posted on the podium in my classroom starting December 3. I expect each student to meet his/her deadline. Format will be explained in class.
Eighth graders are reading The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. They have a variety of assignments to do with each chapter. The first quiz was given on chapters 1-2 this week (Kudos to all)! They will be choosing three projects to complete before Christmas break. All projects should be typed whenever possible: Attention to quality, neatness, deadline and pride.
Seventh graders are finishing The Diary of Anne Frank this week. On 11-24, Mr. Wind will give the entire seventh grade a seventy minute presentation of his life in Holland and valuable information relating to Anne Frank. We have prepared questions to ask him and appreciate the time he is taking to be with us. It is the wisdom of a young Anne who said; “In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.
The fourth project for Anne Frank is due on 11-24.
On 11-25 is the Anne Frank final.
Sixth graders have started “Where the Red Fern Grows” by Wilson Rawls. They have a study guide and will be required to do two projects. Each week we will have a quiz on two or three chapters. Due dates will be given soon.
Our final test on The Diary of Anne Frank will be on 11-25.
