The Game of the Year - Mission Accomplished!
Published by Mrs. J. Connell (Tech) May 13th, 2008 in Announcements.
At our first organizational meeting, we established that our first and foremost goal was that the 8th grade class (all inclusive) enjoy the night and feel special. I sincerely feel that each and every 8th grade child felt very special and loved Friday night. The parents, planners, department heads and school staff were very flexible with rearranging dates and their own schedules. We all worked together to make this work.
This is a very special group of kids and WOW – they performed awesome!
I would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time and/or resources to make this a special night, especially those that do not have children in the 8th grade class.
I want to mention a few people that really did what was best for our kids. These selfless acts of community, family and love set the spirit of the night:
Sister Carolyn – Thank you for allowing the event to take place on May Crowning. In addition, thank you for allowing my wife and me to Chair this event.
Lisle Police Department – Thank you for your Community Support and a fun night for our kids. You are good examples for our children.
Teachers/Staff – Thank you for teaching our children, not only academics but about sharing and giving back. The quarter you play during the event is the highlight for a lot of the kids and parents.
Boys Coaches – Nice job on the uniforms!
Girls Coaches – Thanks for going along with Tom and me in wearing the “Catholic Girls Uniform”. We did it for our daughters, but I think everyone there had some fun with it.
Cheerleaders and Coaches – What great spirit and terrific performances! Your efforts with the “little ones” really showed.
Tom Jansen (Our Event Coordinator) – Tom, you did a great job. Your fun spirit and positive attitude was inspirational. Great Job Tom!
The Class of 2008 – You are a great example of upper classmen – What a fun night!
In closing, I want to say that I sincerely hope everyone enjoyed the night. I compiled a lot of information that I feel will help us in the future. I am proud to have been part of what I hope will be a “Treasured Memory” for our children.
Thank you and may God bless you now and always –
