Chicken eggs: At this point we have found 6 eggs out of 36 not viable. This was a very important week in the embryos’ development….heart, lungs, etc. Over this weekend the embryos will absorb calcium from the egg shells, eye lids start to blink, and leg muscles start exercising. Did your child share with you how we determine if their is a live embryo?
PSO Activty - Rescheduled for Monday.

CIVIL WAR DAYS - May 17 - 18. Naper Settlement will turn their 13 acres into a Civil War encampment. Students meet face-to-face Abraham Lincoln, Gen. Grant and Lee, and hear tales of the Underground Railroad from Harriet Tubman. (10 am - 4 pm) What WONDERFUL way to experience history we are learning about in class.
ENDANGERED ANIMAL REPORTS - Reports are being evaluated and students will earn a science grade and an English grade on this activity.

RELIGION: Complete Chapter 13 describing the power of family love. Test is Wednesday. Start Chapter 14 understanding the sacredness of life.

SOCIAL STUDIES/SCIENCE: Identify first people of the South (pp. 148 - 151) in Chapter 5. Describe the civil rights movement (pp. 152 - 153) and watch video. Science Wizard is Monday. Watch “Recycle” video reinforcing our part conserving natural resources. No Junior Achievement this week.
