IMPORTANT DRAMA INFORMATION

Auditions will be held in one of the Junior High classrooms. Please have your child enter and exit through the Junior High gym doors. Auditions times will be posted on Tuesday, October 30. We will post them on the gym doors and on the outside entrance windows of the south parking lot. Auditions will last approximately twenty minutes for each group. Please don’t drop your child off. Wait for them so they are not wandering around the building alone!
PREPARING FOR THE AUDITIONS
The music that the kids need to practice will be available for children to check out in the SJA library. Only children who are auditioning may check these out and there is a two day limit. You may make a copy of the CD and then return it to the library. Have your child learn the songs. Have them practice the hand jive for we will ask them to do it, with enthusiasm, at the auditions. Have your child read
through the scripts several times so they are familiar with the characters. Practicing in front of a mirror is very helpful. We will look for children who sing in tune, have great stage presence, have confidence, speak slowly and loudly and who have good expression in their faces and voices. We will be picking about 48 children in grades 5-8.
On the day of the auditions, we will send the children home with further information regarding the posting of the cast as well as a mandatory parent meeting.
