3A - Week of September 17-21
Published by Ms. Brown (3A) September 16th, 2007 in Announcements.Thank you for the great attendance at Curriculum Night. It was nice to see everyone and a good way to start off the year!
English: We will have our Chapter 1 Test on Monday, September 17. We will then begin our chapter on Nouns.
Writing: We will finish our “Best Birthday Ever” narratives and then begin to write fall sensory poems.
Science: We will finish up talking about animal adaptations on Monday. We will review our chapter on Tuesday and take the Chapter 1 test on Wednesday. On Monday the children will receive a study guide and vocabulary review sheet.
Math: The Octagons continue to work in Chapter 2- addition, subtration, rounding and comparing numbers. They will take the Chapter 2 test on Friday, September 21.The Triangles will finish Chapter 1 on Monday. We will review on Tuesday and take the chapter 1 test on Wednesday. Both groups will work on extended response problem solving on Friday.
Reading: The Aces will take a Unit test on Tuesday and begin their new story, The Terrible Eek on Wednesday. The Masters and Rulers will begin their new stories on Tuesday, The Patchwork Quilt and Opt: An Illusionary Tale. Please remind your child to bring home their practice and grammar books at least once a week so that you can take a look at their work.
Religion: We will spend the week reviewing Chapters 1-3 (unit 1) We will spend time learning more about how we can care for God’s creation. In our unit reviews we spend time focusing on Catholic Social Teaching: Our Faith in Action.
Please continue to monitor your child’s use of their planner. Children should be writing down their assignments and checking off what they have completed. Please take a look at it every evening and sign it.
Spanish assignment due on Friday: pages 8-9.
This week’s fun: Arts Alive on Friday afternoon.
