Happy Mother’s Day to all our SJA Moms!

Roller blading is in full swing right now for grades 4 through 8.  The kids finally have the knack of getting all the protective equipment on quickly and have more time to enjoy themselves.  We also have Trikkes.  These are 3-wheeled scooters that the kids can stand on and ride.  Grades 4 and 5 are not skating outside because they have PE first thing in the morning and the parking lot is full due to 8:15 mass.  Jr. High is skating in the south parking lot with Mrs. Wenzel and the less experienced skaters are staying indoors with Mrs. Blakemore and skating to music.  (We like to skate to disco!)  Roller blading will be over at the end of the week, and we will once again go outside for flag football with the Jr. High.  4th and 5th grades will be playing soccer and/or pillo polo while continuing with their floor exercises.

Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades are doing their floor exercises also.  We have incorporated some yoga moves with them that they really enjoy.  Please encourage your children to stretch at home when they are sitting and watching TV or playing video games.  It really helps loosen them up for gym class.
