I hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather and Mother’s Day weekend. Last week was a lot of fun in third grade. Of course the highlight was our field trip to Lisle Heritage Park. The children enjoyed the different stations, learning about the history of Lisle, and what life was like in Lisle’s early years.

This week our fun will be Hands On Science on Thursday!

In  Religion we continue with our study of the rosary for the month of May. We have finished our cumulative English review and the children did a good job! It was hard work. We will spend the next couple of weeks refining our grammar skills and applying them to our work in Creative Writing. We can also enjoy spending the last few weeks of school polishing up our scrapbooks!

In Reading the Champions will take the Unit 2 test on Wedesday. The Wizards and Champions will stop where they are in the fourth grade book this week and spend the last two weeks working in literature groups. The Warriors will complete the last 2 stories in the third grade book this week and next week and are on schedule for a unit test on Friday, May 25.

In Math both groups will be working on a year end assessment this week. The Blue Diamonds will also continue to review and the Diamonds will be working on division with remainders.

In Science 3B students begin to learn about the Sun this week.

For Spanish: book due Friday!

We are wrapping things up and it is a fun time of the year to spend with the children. The pressure is off and we are enjoying spending our time together in a more relaxed classroom environment. Everyone has worked very hard this year and should be proud of all of their accomplishments! Have a great week!
