MRS. BRADBURN - March Madness in 2A
Published by Mrs. Bradburn (2A) March 21st, 2007 in Announcements.Happy Spring!! Even the rain is a welcomed sight. I hope it is safe to put the boots and snowpants away!! We have certainly had enough of winter. The excitement is definitely building for the spring break ahead. I hope you enjoy the week of warmth and relaxation.
The second graders are also looking forward to the main event of second grade…receiving the Holy Eucharist. It will be here before you know it. If you haven’t started the home study book now would be a good time. We are preparing for the sacrament in school. Please decide with your child ahead of time whether they will be receiving from the cup. If they are please let them take a sip of wine at home with you so they know what to expect. My worst fear is that once they taste it at the First Eucharist that they will spit it out. So I encourage you to let them taste it and perhaps spit it out at home before the celebration.
We have been busy this past month in all our subjects. Some of the children have completed the second grade math and reading books and they have been moved into the third grade books. They are quite excited about this accomplishment and are feeling the challenge of the next grade level.
The teachers and aides enjoyed a fun afternoon of bowling with the children whose parents bought the bowling game at the auction. We definitely have some star bowlers in second grade.
It is hard to believe we are starting the last quarter of the year. The year is flying by. Please continue to check assignment notebooks every night and make sure your child is completing their homework and bringing it back to school. This is the time of year when they become careless about these things.
I wish you all a wonderful safe and relaxing week ahead.
