6th Grade Math:
The trip that Lewis and Clark took lasted about two and a half (2 1/2 ) years and covered almost 8000 miles. At today’s gas prices, how much would it cost your family to make the same trip in your family’s SUV, which averages 25 mpg? About how many days long will you and your family’s vacation be if you visit historic sites along the way, traveling about 200 miles per day? For today’s gas price, use $3.85.
