4A MRS. DANOWSKI WEEK OF SEPT 1 - 5
Published by Mrs. Danowski (4A) August 31st, 2008 in Announcements.HURRAH!: Many students brought in a copy of last week’s BLOG by the requested due date because inside of my BLOG was a special statement saying s/he could “earn extra credit for science” that time if they did. That means some families are looking at the BLOG. Randomly you will find “here and there” more “surprises.” Always read the BLOG….please!
.
Assignment Notebooks: Please ask your child to see their assignment notebook each day. We don’t ask parents to sign them in 4th grade. Sometimes notes are stapled inside. Homework assignments are given orally and written on the in-class “assignment” board.
.
NO SCHOOL: Monday is a holiday and teachers have an institute on Friday.
.
SPANISH: Spanish started for 1/2 of the class. Mrs. Kenney and I do not post Spanish homework on the BLOG. Check the assignment notebook.
.
BLOG: Did you check Mrs. Kenney’s blog? Be sure to look at both 4A and 4B activities.
.
BAND: The band director will give a demo of different instruments Tuesday. He will do instrumental testing on Wednesday. Students are encouraged to join. Those who do join the band find a 4th grade friend to tell them what they missed in class and to “pick up” any handouts for them. Band students are responsible for what they miss in class and will not miss the same class each week.
.
RELIGION: We continue to focus on CH. 1 (pp. 42 - 46) understanding the meaning of creation, recognizing that God has a plan for all humans, and planning a quiet prayer space. A baggie of art supplies (for secret parent project) is due the following week, but maybe brought in early.
.
Social Studies: T-shirts are due Sept. 3 (Weds.). Our focus in CH. 1 (pp. 8 - 11) is describing how geographers divide the earth into hemispheres, latitudes, longitudes, regions, etc. They started taking notes in their spiral.
.
SCIENCE: We’ll do an experiment related to condensation, identify tools to measure weather and review Lesson 1. They started taking notes in their spiral.
