Kudos to Drama
Published by Mrs. J. Connell (Tech) May 6th, 2008 in Announcements.Hopefully many of you were able to see the St. Joan of Arc Drama Club’s 9th annual production over the weekend. Both casts did a great job presenting “The Nifty Fifties”. This show was originally performed by the Drama Club in 2001 and all three shows had some “Nifty Fifties” alumni in the audience. Drama Club is a great experience for the performers and hopefully for the audiences as well, but it would not be possible without many dedicated volunteers. Besides directors Margie Novotny and Beckie Stefely, co-director Pam Shuta and student director Katie Shuta, there were the technical crews headed by Tom Godar (lights) and Steve Novotny and Bernie Rizzo (sound). In addition, there were teams handling props, costumes, set design and construction, tickets, concessions, rehearsal support, backstage help, photography, program, publicity, video, flower sales, email communications, invitations, and the cast party!!! A big THANK YOU goes out to everyone involved for another successful drama season.
This was the 9th year of the St. Joan of Arc Drama Club. Next year will be the directors’ 10th and final year. If this program is to continue, DRAMA NEEDS YOU! If you’ve ever thought about wanting to make a child smile in song and dance - here is your chance! Come join the directors next year to see what goes on behind the scenes. Start at the beginning with auditions and carry it through to that final curtain call and the joyous scream the kids do as soon as the curtain closes. Over 1,000 kids have taken their bows on the SJA stage and we would love to be able to give the next generation of SJAers that same chance. THE SHOW MUST GO ON!
