PE Department Week of 12/3/07
Published by Wind/Wenzel Blakemore (PE) November 30th, 2007 in Announcements.Hard to believe that the Christmas season is already upon us. We are getting into the holiday spirit down at this end of the school. Come and take a look at the decorated tree outside Sr. Mary Patricia’s Office. Mrs. Wenzel and Mrs. Blakemore wanted to decorate a tree in the gym, but decided that with Volleyball going on right now, that would not be such a good idea!
Jr. High classes have been split up into Volleyball teams. We have practiced passing,
setting and serving and now we are putting it all together during the PE classes. Testing on skills will begin in a few weeks and we will then go into our unit on dance.
4th and 5th grades are also playing Volleyball. Some of our 4th graders are surprisingly very good. We will be lowering the nets for 4th grade to assist them in getting the ball over the net.
2nd and 3rd grades are finishing up running the quarter mile and half mile. Having gym only once a week has delayed the process of finishing up the Presidential Physical Fitness Test.
1st grade played one of their favorite games last Wednesday. Ask your child about “Vegetable Soup”. Kindergarten practiced “ball skills” with Mrs. Blakemore. We even learned a cool basketball pivot move. Pretty cute!
Have a great week.
