Friday is the Last day to sign out books from the SJA library. All parents are encouraged to attend the INTERNET SAFETY presentation scheduled at 7 - 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5. (Children having parents who attended will receive a special “jeans and sweatshirt” day to be announced).

RELIGION: The shepherds were the first to hear the birth of Jesus from the angels. This week we do a mini-study on the characteristics of sheep and how the good shepherd responds. Playing a trivia game, students identify symbols of Christmas. After watching a video called “The Christmas They Never Forgot” students describe different Christmas values. Christmas cards should be finished. Don’t forget to return the signed permission note and fee by December 7 (Friday) for the field trip to the Shrine of St. Therese (Darien).

SOCIAL STUDIES: Students describe the growth of industries in the East (pp. 94 - 95). They review for the Chapter 3 test on Friday using the internet and laptops. Students receive a study guide identifying oceans and continents for a future test taking place Dec. 13. In Ellis Island, students identify the feelings of immigrants and discover facts about American sites and symbols (video) as well as make their own drawing of the Statue of Liberty.

SCIENCE: We review for the Chapter 2 electricity test taking place Tuesday.
