Welcome back! I hope you had a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday. We now have four full weeks of school before we break again for Christmas. Science students, please consider taking book notes or making note cards for extra credit. These notes can be turned in any time before the chapter test. These extra points really add up and make a difference come grading time! Math students: you will be getting a problem of the week on Friday, November 30. Please remember that you can earn 1 extra credit point when you turn in this assignment on Monday! Here is a summary of the rest of this week’s activities:

6th Grade Math: The test on sections 3.7 - 3.11 has been graded and sent home for a signature. Please sign and return this test as soon as possible. This week the 6th grade will work on sections 3.1 - 3.6 (adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals). The test on these sections is scheduled for Wednesday, December 5.

7th Grade Math: The 7th grade students will be working on displaying data using barmath-pythagorean-theorem.jpg graphs, histograms and line graphs. They will also explore misleading graphs and statistics and learn to make and interpret scatter plots. The test on Chapter 4 is scheduled for Friday, November 30.

8th Grade Math: The 8th grade students will study sections 11.1- 11.3 this week. They can expect a quiz on these sections as early as Friday, November 30.

6th Grade Science: The 6th grade students are reviewing Chapter 1. They will begin investigating the behavior of pendulums on Wednesday, November 28. The Chapter 1 test is Thursday, November 29.

7th Grade Science: The students are reviewing Chapter 1. The Cell Project due date has been changed to Thursday, November 29. The Chapter 1 test will be on Friday, November 30.

8th Grade Science: The students are reviewing Chapter 1. On Wednesday, they will complete a lab activity in which they calculate the density of a substance using the water displacement method. The Chapter 1 test is scheduled for Thursday, November 29.

8th Grade Vocabulary: The Unit 6 Vocabulary test will be Friday, November 30.
