The trimester is quickly coming to a close and everyone has been working very hard. Service hours are due no later than Friday November 9th.

6th Grade Math: The students will begin reviewing Chapter 3 (Decimals) on November 1st and will be tested on this Chapter on Monday, November 5th.

7th Grade Math: The 7th grade will begin reviewing Chapter 3 (Solving Equations) on November 1st. The Chapter 3 test will be Monday, November 5th.

8th Grade Math: Fantasy Football has been a lot of fun. The students will be trading players soon and will also construct bar graphs to display team progress. They are currently studying Relations, Functions, and Variations in Chapter 10. The Chapter 10 Mid-Chapter Quiz is scheduled for Wednesday, November 7th.

6th Grade Science: “Science in the News” which takes place each Friday has been fun and informative. The students have brought in some wonderful science and health news stories to share with the class. Additionally, the students have concluded their study of Pendulums and will soon finish Chapter 4, Ocean Motions. The Chapter 4 test is scheduled for Tuesday, November 5th.

7th Grade Science: We are currently studying Chapter 4, Modern Genetics, in the Prentice Hall series and have concluded the hands-on “Bulbs and Batteries” unit in the TOPS series. The Bulbs and Batteries assessment will be Friday, November 2nd, and the Chapter 4 Genetics test will be Wednesday, November 7th.

8th Grade Science: The students have concluded their study of the periodic table! They were very focused throughout the entire chapter…I wish you could have heard the discussions that I had the pleasure of hearing as I wandered from group to group. “I think the element described is ________.” No, I think that it must be ________. “Well, if it’s very reactive, then it must be________. ” And so it went, day after day. I am very proud of their efforts. They are currently studying Carbon Chemistry (Chapter 4). The Chapter 4 test is scheduled for Tuesday, November, 6th
