The Book-It program starts Monday. You should have received the October calendar last Wednesday. Use the calendar to keep track of the pages your child reads. The goal for October is 100 pages. Please encourage your child to participate in this program. It goes through March. I would love 100% participation. If your child meets the goal for October please sign the calendar and send it in at the end of the month. Your child will receive a certificate for a free personal pan pizza and the November calendar.

Some of the children have taken the Accelerated Reader test this past week. Next week the Publishers reading group will be able to use the computers in the room. Everyone is required to take one test per quarter. Of course they may read more and take more tests.

Thank you for reading and writing in your child’s journal when it comes home on Friday. They really love it when you write to them.
