6th Grade Math - The 6th graders have been working very hard and have been producing some outstanding Problem of the Week papers. Keep up the good work! They are currently studying Chapter 2, An Introduction to Algebra. They have been evaluating algebraic expressions, translating between words and algebra, and translating between tables and algebra. These skills give meaning to symbolic representations such as formulas and equations and are used to solve real-world problems in mathematics. The Chapter 2 Mid-Chapter Quiz will be on Tuesday, September 25th. Problem of the Week #4 is due Thursday, September 27th.
7th Grade Math - The 7th grade students are already half-way through Chapter 2, Operations with Real Numbers. In this Chapter students use the properties of real numbers to simplify and evaluate arithmetic and algebraic expressions. The students have been producing some excellent Problem of the Week papers! The Chapter 2 Mid-Chapter Quiz is Tuesday, September 25th. Problem of the Week #4 is due Thursday, Septermber 27th.
8th Grade Math - The 8th grade students have completed their review of Chapters 1-7 and will begin reviewing Chapter 8, Rational Expressions, on Monday, September 25. By the end of the week, they should be reviewing the first half of Chapter 9, Applying Rational Expressions. Problem of the Week #4 is due Thursday, September 27th. Remember 8th graders, you can earn one extra credit point when you turn in your Problem of the week on Monday. These points really add up, so take advantage of this opportunity!
