MRS. DANOWSKI — WEEK of MAY 21 - 25
Published by Mrs. Danowski (4A) May 18th, 2007 in Announcements.RELIGION: The children are mesmerized with the story of St. Joan of Arc. So am I! We continue on with it. They’re taking notes and then we will turn our learning into a “Jeopardy” game working collaboratively…another fun way to learn about heroes of our faith! This week we finish our prayer journals. Sister Carolyn has used some of the students’ love letters to God (in their journals) in her morning prayer with the whole school.
.
SOCIAL STUDIES: Have you heard of the “Trail of Tears?” We’re taking a break from the text and studying the suffering and betrayal felt by the Cherokee Indians in the South.
.
SCIENCE: Mr. White (SJA parent/scientist) is our guest speaker Monday! We are always awed by his experiments. All final copies of the endangered animal report are due Tuesday with the rough draft. They must both be turned in together as a complete package…otherwise it is considered incomplete. Some have been turned in already!! Off to the Brookfield Zoo we go Tuesday to find the most unusual habitat, strangest diet, weirdest behavior, etc. of animals. Also…identifying those endangered animals at the zoo becomes competitive! This week we describe how heat (textbook) is responsible for changes in matter and conduct a class experiment related to condensation.
