MRS. DANOWSKI Week of Feb 26 - March 2
Published by Mrs. Danowski (4A) February 23rd, 2007 in Announcements.HOLY CHILDHOOD DONATION:
During Lent we are called to prayer, fasting and almsgiving according to Father Tivy at Friday’s mass. Students are doing extra things around the house to earn coins that will be donated to the “Holy Childhood Association. This is an example of almsgiving. Please consider filling-up the Holy Childhood card.
PSO ACTIVITY:
4th graders are very excited for this coming Wednesday’s afternoon presentation about Lewis and Clark. They still can’t believe that it is true!
FATHERHOOD ESSAYS:
Fatherhood essays are due in 4A on Wednesday, Feb, 28. Three parts are needed for a complete assignment. The are: student’s typed essay, Father’s (or uncle’s, etc.) typed response, and the blue half sheet (filled out) attached to the top.
RELIGION:
We start CH.10 - recognizing everyone has an important purpose in life and learning different ways people can use their gifts. The video called “Lamb of God” is another way for students to connect to the passion this Lent. Again, we will meditiate on scripture and write a “love letter” to God.
SOCIAL STUDIES”
There will be a test on Ch. 7 (Midwest Region) on Friday. Review old handouts, reread the chapter, and study notes. For Lewis and Clark, students will discover the reason why there was an expedition, use map skills to describe the Louisiana Territory, and describe the different kinds of people needed to make the trip successful.
SCIENCE:
National Park presentations begin Thursday. This week’s Science Wizard experiments were awesome. The students did a great job presenting the information and we loved learning about new scientific principles. More experiments will happen on Thursday.
